With support from the Media and Maker Commons at the SFU Library, the School of Engineering Science (ENSC) is offering TEKX 101, a course focused on providing the background and skill set to use additive manufacturing (3D printing) and laser scanning technologies.

TEKX 101: What you'll learn

TEKX 101 is a hands-on course that will introduce you to SFU's makerspace -- a communal space that provides access to tools and devices like 3D printers.

You'll learn about:

  • the basic concepts of 3D printing
  • computer design tools to create a 3D printed project
  • the use of 3D scanners to make replicas of existing objects.

You'll complete several 3D printed projects within the course.

For more information about the course, see TEKX 101: Introduction to 3D printing and laser scanning technologies.
