Description:

Group study rooms are located on the 2nd floor.

There are 14 group study rooms available, each with seating for 4-8 students.

Booking policy:

SFU and FIC students can book these rooms online.

Equipment and hours: 

  • All rooms have whiteboards.
  • Rooms 2004, 2102, 2113, and 2114 have LCD presentation screens.
  • Rooms are available during library hours.

Room 2105 Instruction Lab

Description:

The Library Instruction Lab is located on the 2nd Floor.

Seating is available for 48 people.

Equipment, hours, and configuration:

  • 24 computers, each with two monitors
  • Ceiling-mounted LCD projector
  • Instructor's lectern with desk-top computer
  • Wireless microphone and sound system
  • Two pull-down screens
  • Whiteboard
  • Rooms are available during library hours.
  • Room is arranged in a classroom style.

Room 7200 Committee room

Description:

This is a Library Committee Room located on the 7th Floor.

Booking policy:

  • This room is available to SFU faculty and staff for university-related business.
  • To book this meeting room contact the Library Administration Office at 778.782.6704 or library@sfu.ca
  • A brief description of the event/function is required and Library Management staff reserve the right to decline or cancel the room booking for events/functions unrelated to the intended uses of these facilities, or which may generate scheduling conflicts with Library bookings.

Configuration:

  • Seating is available for up to eighteen (18) people with tables arranged in a rectangle for videoconferencing.
  • Seating is available for twenty (20) people with tables arranged in hollow square.
  • Seating for thirty to forty (30-40) people with tables arranged in a classroom style.
  • Seating for fifty (50) people with no tables and set up in a theater style format.
  • A catering (multipurpose) table along the north wall is always available along with garbage, recycling and organics receptacles.

  • Zoom video conferencing; can be used for hybrid sessions
  • Ceiling mounted Laser projector with laptop connection, adapters available upon request
  • Large wall mounted projection screen
  • Instructor's desktop computer with 27"inch monitor, wired and wireless internet available, wireless keyboard and mouse
  • 85"inch front wall mounted monitor 
  • Front tracking Video conference camera for board room meetings (Zoom)
  • Rear PTZ video conference camera for instructor
  • Wall mounted audio speakers
  • Wireless handheld microphones for in room PA system
  • Wireless and wired table top microphones available
  • Movable large white board
  • Phone
  • Room is available during library hours.

Room 7301 Committee room

Description:

This is a Library Committee Room located on the 7th Floor.

Seating is available for 12 people at one table.

Booking policy:

  • This room is available to SFU faculty and staff for university related business.
  • To book this meeting room contact the Library Administration Office at 778.782.6704 or library@sfu.ca
  • A brief description of the event/function is required and Library Management staff reserve the right to decline or cancel the room booking for events/functions unrelated to the intended uses of these facilities, or which may generate scheduling conflicts with Library bookings.

Note: Due to Library and Student Learning Commons requirements, Room 7301 is not available in September, October, November, January, February, and March.

  • Zoom video conferencing; can be used for hybrid sessions
  • Dual 80"inch monitors with audio, laptop connection available. Video adaptors available upon request.
  • Desktop computer with wired network. Wireless internet available. Wireless keyboard and mouse.
  • Front tracking video conference camera for meetings (Zoom)
  • Table top microphones

Room 7100 Wosk seminar

Description:

This is the Wosk Seminar room in Special Collections located on the 7th Floor.

Seating is available for 16 people.

Booking policy:

Faculty and staff can book this room through Special Collections staff at 778.782.5335 for tutorial groups, classes, or special meetings which require the use of Special Collections material.

Equipment and hours:

  • Television monitor with VCR
  • Large LCD screen
  • PC desk-top computer with internet connection
  • Room is available Monday to Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm.

Obligations of the person booking a Library meeting room at W.A.C. Bennett Library

  1. Close the windows before leaving the room.
  2. Turn off the lights [except for Room 2105], and any equipment used before leaving the room.
  3. Leave the room's furniture in the order it was found.
  4. Lock the doors after the room has been vacated.
  5. Make arrangements in advance to have Library Systems staff scan any computer disks for viruses [778.782.4706].
  6. Inform Equipment Services regarding any malfunctioning equipment [778.782.4470].
  7. Non-Library personnel need to contact Library Systems if computers are to be used [778.782.4706].
  8. Meeting room users must respect the Library's code of conduct and activities should not interfere with normal Library operations.
