NEW: Online access to the Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation, 9th edition!
Published by Yolanda KoscielskiI'm very pleased to let you know we now have online access to the official Canadian legal style guide, The Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation, 9th edition (aka the McGill guide)!
The Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation is a quadrennially-released style and citation guide that provides the standard for Canadian legal writing. For instance, you can use the guide for guidance on citing Canadian case law and legislation.
To access, simply go the catalogue record for the guide, and click on the link, Westlaw single titles. You'll be taken directly to the guide.
As with many citation guides, library-authored guides about different citation styles can provide supplementary user-friendly introductions to citation styles, and often include helpful additional citation examples. A couple of recommended library guides to the The Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation are:
- Legal Citation with the 9th edition of the McGill Guide (from Queen's University Library)
- Law: Legal Citation Guide (from UBC Law Library)
Please feel free to Ask A Librarian if you have any questions about citations.
